» Frozen Ember

Label: Electronic Architecture
Format: Digital
Genre: Progressive

Bridging the gap between progressive and trance, [EA], or Electronic Architecture, is I Like It Pure's go-to for unique prog/trance/house hybrids. Like Pure Breaks, EA lurks in the background like a tiger before striking out with a release. But anyway, I digress. This is Frozen Ember by William Byrne, whose Echoes was released on Pure Trance with remixes from Hoopee and Alan Banks.

This one, however, is a refined slab of proggy goodness that fully suits the EA sound perfectly. Following on from Alucard's remix of Heart Connected and Dansei, this is relaxing, more benign and cinematic, music. It meanders around the structural majesty of the bass-line and overall skyscraping premise. There's also a breaks interlude that was unexpected but cool.

Put simply, Frozen Ember is EA at its finest. One for the chilled sets during the Summer months.
