Label: Perfecto
Format: Digital
Genre: House

Finally by Ce Ce Peniston is rightly and fondly remembered as a house classic – now over 20 years old! It’s been given the make over and rereleased on Perfecto.

Taking the original riff, pitched up vocals with a load of reverb and adding a dirty bassline the Roman Hunter mix is a gritty take for those heads down moments yet is closest to the original in its sound and indeed my original. The Digital Chord remix will satisfy the out of town superclubs with its sidechained synth but I wasn’t a fan of its hard electro sound. The same can be said for the Zen Freeman & Remy Le Duc remix, which I thought was too repetitive. DJ Cii gives us a more funky workout, with a big kick drum and stabbing chords. Tech house aficionados and house traditionalists will be served well with the Tiger Stripes remix, with its much more laid back bar sound.

7/10
