Elucidate

» Final Hour (Original & Karl G Mixes)

Reviewed by Steve Anderson / Submitted 13-11-08 15:43

Label: Amplified Digital
Format: Digital
Genre: Tech Trance

Amplified Digital return with their 11th release, a two-track package from Elucidate coming compete with a remix from Karl G.

Final Hour (Original Mix)

Final Hour has a steady intro piece, building elements on a cool basis until filtering up for the breakdown. The melody is simple, pretty and Trancy - and the kick sits well in the mix. The tech feel comes at the end of the breakdown when a dark gritty bassline drives the whole track along with the kick, and the nicer elements join up afterwards. Solid whilst not overly explosive.

7/10

Final Hour (Karl G Remix)

A nice crisp, clean start to this one from the off, and I quite liked the introduction of the bassline at the minute mark - which comes filtering down in full before having the sidechain effect added at the end of the section. Similar in structure to the Original, with some added breaks in the breakdown before kicking back in. The bassline flurries at the start of the bar work quite well and add a different flavour, all in all a cool alternative take - which I favour slightly over the Original.

7/10
